The Ritz Carlton Mauritius is an ongoing project that is located in Rivière Noire, a dry and picturesque region with Le Morne Mountain overlooking the site.

The landscape ranges from volcanic mountains and cut-stone rectangular salt pans to beautiful sandy beaches overlooking a barachois. The locality provides for a complete hideaway and offers scenic views of the surrounding beach, ocean, barachois and mountains.

The design investigates the potential fusion of the vernacular and modern architectures combining the subtlety traditional colonial pavilion design with modern dynamic treatment of space and form.

Morphos Architects worked in joint venture with the London based firms, HKS, HBA & HED on this hotel project.
